Usage Instructions:
– Rehydrate before use.
– Cover with boiling water and leave for 20 minutes.
– Drain and pat dry to remove excess water.
– Use immediately.
Do not eat raw.
Recipes
You can stir this versatile sauce through tagliatelle and serve it garnished with fresh parsley – it tastes great with steak and chips as well.
Porcini Mushroom Sauce
Ingredients
1 tbsp oil
1/2 onion, finely sliced.
1 clove of garlic, finely chopped
25g mushrooms, soaked and chopped
50ml white wine
100ml double cream
1 tbsp parmesan cheese, grated
Why not try:
In mushroom pasta and risotto. Mixing with button mushrooms for mushrooms on toast. In Bolognese and ragus. In soups, stews and pies.
Method
Heat the oil in a frying pan and fry the onion and garlic until soft, then add the chopped porcini mushrooms and cook for another 3-4 min. Pour in the white wine, reduce by a third, then add the double cream and bring to a simmer for 5 min before mixing in the Parmesan.
